Artist Statement:
As one who’s in love with the mystery and miracle of this existence, I listen with all my senses to the music of the seemingly mundane, finding new dances to learn as I look for clues to staying open in heart and soul. As a poet I play with cadence and candor as I converse with myself and the muses across time and dimension. I write to discern the line of my own voice from the chorus of the infinite. A musical maeven, I’ve been singing to the gradients of the Great One my whole life, and I am ever seeking more flavors to finesse out of Her pockets. When I’m not dancing or praying with my large companionship of crayons, I can be found laughing my heart into tears with my imaginary friends and the birds, bees, flowers and trees. With a penchant for play and a proclivity for silliness, I am most at home in rapturous community gatherings where we testify our love with our voices and moving, swaying bodies.
When I need medicine, I am in nature’s embrace. When I am not in need of medicine, I am praising in nature’s embrace. When I find the scene has shifted but I’ve yet to hear the script, I keep an extra eye peeled and practice improv, inventing new narratives and archetypes to walk the mythos. In my many lives, I love jest the most. The spiritual faiths of the world inspire me with their beauty and endless depths, and it is in service to the Highest Good of All that I ask for help orienting myself to every morning. I freestyle my lyrics and melodies in private or the public, performing the symphonic epics that are the internal soundtrack to my life. I dream of world peace and practice a philosophy that holds it as attainable and inevitable.
